Today is the final 1040 deadline, barring a hurricane or something

Today is the final extended due date for 1040s. There are no second extensions. You need to file today, or face late penalties.

There is an exception. If you are "lucky" enough to live in an area affected by Hurricane Irene, you have until October 31 to file.
