DATE WITH DESTINY

Voting appears to be heavy in today's vote on the "Project Destiny" sales tax proposal. The proposal would boost the local sales tax rate from 6% to 7%, with 1/3 of the proceeds earmarked for property taxes, and the rest to be spent by our local elected officials with their usual thrift.

Lots of yard signs are out for "No."

The "Yes" folks are relying on lots of money, lobbying their own employees, and media buys. Polls are open until 8:00 p.m.
