While us tax drones tend to view April 17, the deadline day, as tax freedom day, the Tax Foundation looks at things differently. To them Tax Freedom Day is April 30. In rough terms, that's the day when we have earned enough to pay our taxes for the year so we can start working for ourselves.
They compute tax freedom day as April 21 for Iowans.
