The Tax Foundation has come out with "The Tax Bite in the Eight-Hour Day®, " a complement to their "Tax Freedom Day®." According to the Tax Fouondation, the average American works 2 hours and 13 minutes to pay their taxes each day. If they were paying enough taxes to cover all government spending, it would take three hours and seven minutes to pay off Leviathan. They illustrate it with this handy graphic:
