A federal jury yesterday convicted three men of a $9 million tax-protest type tax fraud. One of the convicted defendants was Joseph Saladino, who has been fighting the IRS, unsuccessfully, for a long time. They were convicted of preparing returns that deducted the "value of labor" on tax returns to zero-out taxable income.
Once when Mr. Saladino was ordered to put a copy of an injunction against him on his website, he added this defiant statement to the site:
If there was "no evidence of fraud" before, the IRS found some. While the judge has some "discression" in imposing a sentence, federal sentencing guidelines recommend a 63-78 month sentence for a $9 million tax loss. As a guest of the "goverment," he will find his freedom and privacy sadly limited. But as his web site used to say,

If you try to use tax protest theories, it helps not to need those things.

It's amazing what some people will try to get away with. This is a fight you just won't win. But I guess it doesn't surprise me, people have been trying to get away with this stuff for years.

Never fails...it's only a matter of time before the IRS will catch up with them. It's amazing what people will try to get away with.

I hear you...these protest frauds have been around forever and the end result is the same. Some people never learn.

There's nothing to "get away with". The 16th Amendment didn't give Congress any new taxing power. Read the court cases before you make statements. Then read the tax code where it says who is liable. ANY AND ALL tax laws spell out liability. In the Income Tax code, only foreign corporations and resident & non-resident aliens who earn money within the United States are made liable. It's a gigantic scam, and if you all weren't so brainwashed and had a good foundation in the Constitution and what private property really is, you'd realize you're being robbed. When an entity can tell you how much of your earings, from your own labor, you are allowed to keep, you are not free. You are a slave, and you must submit to your master. Use logic, folks, and you can figure it out. The income tax is about redistribution of wealth, a Marxist concept.
