The fund raising totals for Tuesday's sales tax vote are out. Supporters have raised $770,000, including one $100,000 donation. Opponents have raised $3,568, with the largest donation a $1,000 loan from the organizer of the effort.

A recent Des Moines Register Poll shows that that likely voters are lopsided in the other direction, with 32% in favor of the tax increase and 61% opposed. Maybe the credit card company is right - there are some things money just can't buy.
