The Tax Update is back from vacation. It included some time in our nation's capital, where we visited the usual popular tourist spots:
The U.S. Treasury, source of our cherished income tax regulations.
The IRS Building. Fun for the whole family!
And the Tax Court! I'm sure your kids will love it, too.
Now we will dig out from the accumulated debris of vacation; posting will be light meanwile. I've already deleted over 100 spam posts that tried to get on the site. If you truly were interested in the wonderful life-enhancing products these folks have, please accept our apologies. I have also deleted several hundred emails offering similar products, so you probably don't need the Tax Update to stay informed of these fabulous opportunities.
If you want some substantive reading until we get organized, check out the current edition of The Carnival of Taxes.

Welcome back, Joe!
Looks like you had a rousing good time (as evidenced by the 2nd & 3rd pics).
Glad you're back safe, and have a great 4th!

Joe, I'm going to take my niece and nephew (ages 8 and 11, respectively) to DC in a couple of weeks. I wasn't planning on taking them to the Treasury Department, but hmmm....

Is it typical of accountants to wear suits on vacation?

Stef,
Doesn't everyone?
Actually, that was the day we flew out there. I like wearing sportjackets on airplanes because I like having lots of inside pockets for tickets and stuff. Besides, somebody has to stand up for high clothing standards!
