The Tax Update had 7046 "unique visitors" in November, according to the statistics module of our web site host. This shatters the record of 3993 set the prior month.
The increase is largely attributable to our "Ponch and Jon" post about the high-speed tax evader. The post was linked by the TaxProf, which (we think) led to a post by the giga-blog "The Volokh Conspiracy" and maybe a half-dozen other blogs. The day The Conspiracy linked to us we recorded 1,620 visits - probably triple any prior day.
Does it mean anything? I guess if you want visitors, stay away from boring policy stuff and have fun. Works for us! We're a long way from achieving the TaxProf's star status, but that would be asking too much.
Thanks to all of you who stop by! You make it fun and worthwhile.
